In Their Own Words is a multi‑disciplinary one‑woman show starring acclaimed performer Rachael Beck. Celebrating the songs and stories of twenty trailblazing Australian women—some famous, many unsung—Rachael weaves verbatim words and anecdotes from icons like Ita Buttrose, Tanya Plibersek, Marcia Langton and Carlotta with music by Missy Higgins, Kate Miller‑Heidke, Kate Ceberano and Dami Im. From artists to scientists, politicians to humanitarians, these stories of triumph and resilience—many never before heard on stage—form a powerful tapestry of female strength and achievement. Developed with James Millar and directed by Miranda Middleton, this moving tribute honours extraordinary women who shaped our culture.
