UNDERSCORE blurs the line between music, storytelling and narration as acclaimed writers perform excerpts of their work over a lush electro‑acoustic soundscape by Sally Ford and the Idiomatic. Featuring live readings by Helen Garner, Christos Tsiolkas, Wayne Macauley, Jennifer Down, Brian Nankervis, Maxine Beneba Clarke and Jane Clifton, the performance is interwoven with songs and stories from Sally Ford’s band, whose wry lyrics explore life and lived experience.
